My name is Emily! You can call me Em, or Emmie.
I’m a yogi, wanderer, and photographer.
I grew up in Forest Hills, Queens New York.
When I was 22 I lost touch with reality during a manic episode and was diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder.
I escaped the chaos of New York City, moved in with my parents, and found solace in nature on Hilton Head Island.
With an interest sparked by my Dad, I began photographing birds.
Through photography I find passion, purpose, and serenity.
When my dad passed away at the age of 62, my mom encouraged me to follow my passions. Shortly after I began traveling full time with my fiancé, Ray Hennessy in our sprinter van, which is also our home.
Then, I discovered a new passion— taking portraits.
Photographing people, exposing their true essence and making them feel seen. I love capturing one on one moments out in nature or wherever I am wandering.
I feel very grateful to be living on the road, experiencing new places, meeting new people, and spending most of my time in nature— not attached to any one place, and feeling very connected to every place I travel to.
If you are suffering from a mental health condition— please know you are not alone, and please know there is always hope for a brighter future.
If you need someone to talk to, please feel welcome to reach out.
