Rainbow Springs!
Ray and I planned a trip to Rainbow Springs to further explore our underwater housing and trying split level shots of birds in the beautiful springs habitat. I think some of my favorite shots that I took were of underwater cormorants and anhingas hunting, and I was even able to capture a river otter underwater as well! I was a bit uneasy getting in the water close to the shoreline as we had seen some gators and let my fear get the best of me. I tried a few times with split-level shots but would definitely like to explore this more in the future. I also was able to get some amazing Wood Duck portraits. As the birds are accustomed to seeing plenty of boats and humans floating by on the river, they were not skittish as ducks usually are. I had some amazing opportunities with these gorgeous intricate ducks in beautiful light. In the video below we talk about our trip to Rainbow Springs, which included a quick stop at Huguenot Memorial Park, and one outing in Hilton Head as well.
